Which is better, higher oil costs or investing in green?

Well at least I can agree with Senator Obama on his green policy. Below is copy of a blog text on CNN.com just reported.
(CNN) — According to his campaign, Obama wants to invest $150 billion over the next 10 years to establish a green energy sector; create a national low-carbon fuel standard to ensure that the fuel is more efficient, and invest in clean energies like solar, wind and biodiesel.
That, according to the campaign, would create up to 5 million new green energy jobs.
There are two ways to stimulate green energy, keep oil prices high…or invest in green sectors. While the first is as effective, it is destructive to our economies. The latter is the right way to go in my opinion.
Thoughts anyone?

  1. Hi Sass,
Sunny greetings to you and sundry,
As always you seem to be able to show how the “new emerging Renewable Energy sector” show, should go,we need more of you in this world, flying the eco flag.
I often check out your blog just to see whats happening in your sector.
A word to the wise, the news on the ground is that the oil companies are buying up tree farms / forests ect, this action like confucious saying goes is that ” no action is a action”…the story goes that if they buy up the wood’s that they then,do not have to fell them, this leads to the theory that,if they have a substansial investment in the wood industry they will be able to “insure” against , their “comming” losses in the oil market…,
I’m actually afraid for our kids and theirs what a world we now live in,
Here in Western Europe things are about to heat up,
every day their are talks of strikes and oil hikes.
God help us,I myself am lucky that I work and Train in the renewable energy sector and it has been growing faster here every day.
The fact of the matter is that everyone will want to be apart of the “action”,I firmly believe in the idea of getting the correct training first, then the sector can expand,as it will.
The misconception is that the training can “catch up” later, this just won’t work,as installer “damage” will make a mockery of renewables installations…as it has done so already across the world.
as always just venting some thoughts,
every best wish to you and yours,
    Bye for now,from sunny Ireland,
    Seamus Allard
PS…As I have said to you before, that their is a pint of Guinness waiting for you at our local pub..if you ever get a chance to visit Ireland…

since the oil price is high, it is the traditional energy. Green energy need a long way to go although it is the trend.
