Man has the market gone nuts or is it just me? 30X earnings on solar energy manufacturing companies? ERSOL over-subscribed by a multiple of three?
Qcells going public in a few days. Same story. Everybody wants in at any price…and then Solarworld takes a 20$ plunge in two days! Could it be that the world has said “enough”?
Buyer beware. Just make sure that if you invest in solar power stocks, you have a longer term view than a day trader. You’ll surely go up in time, but the realities of the market soon take the bubble out of the fizzle. Some of these stocks ran up too fast and now will take a breather. Could be a good time to buy the right one…

Hi,
I was going through your blog & a couple of other websites – which state that Amorphous works better in partial indirect sunlight than crystalline ones & delivers more watt hrs. than crystalline.
I would like to know the logic reason behind this – why it happens and are there any studies ,which certify the same.
That is an excellent question. Amorphous cells are monolithically integrated so that the cells run along the entire plate, whereas crystalline cells are mechanically connected together in series to achieve the required voltages. So if you block one crystalline cell in an array, without a bypass diode, then you effectively block the panel voltage. With amorphous, the voltage runs alone the plate as with the cells, so that if any part of the plate is blocked, then the reduction in power is only for amperage in that area. If however you have shade across the entire panel length, then the voltage of the amorphous plate will be equally blocked as with crystalline. Although I can’t point you to a specific website at this time, there are plenty of them you can search through archives or search engines.
