As the year winds up, many people will ask what my new year’s resolutions are? Frankly speaking, I don’t intend on having any. We often look to events as the “bend around the corner” we need to change things. These are simply beliefs, that if we find a way to let go of, will find their truths. We don’t need to wait a single second to change anything in our lives, its all just our thoughts (and some marketing) which leads us to believe otherwise.
I read some interesting posts on Facebook about how people were being extra nice to each other on Christmas day, and wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could be that way every day. So the question begs…why not every day? What exactly is stopping any of us, right at this very second, from making a positive change? Mao Tse Tung started out wanting to change the world, and then realized that if each of us simply changed the next word to come out of our mouths as a more positive one, that would be billions of positive words coming out in the world.
You can be the change you want the world to be, as Gandhi stated. You just have to make that choice. Today, I filled up my gas tank and drove away. The service guy charged me $30. A tank usually costs about $70. When I realized the mistake, I drove back to the station and had him charge me another $40. That poor kid would probably have had it come out of his pocket at the end of the day. He was so grateful…and so was I for the opportunity to do the right thing.
And so as this is my last post before heading off on a break with my family, I would like to extend to all sincere wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
