For anyone who had any doubt that the “war” on Libya has little do with “saving the population”, and much more to do with “big oil”, take a read of today’s CNN article regarding the latest deployments and bombings. Within the article note the mention of the sale of $160Million worth of oil to China by the rebels.
So if anyone has wondered whether or not this war has more to do with money than anything else, think again. The reality is that if Libya had no oil, there would be no war. What Gadhafi did was nowhere near as bad as the genocide that Rwandan leaders brought to their leaders, yet did we see NATO bombing them there?
Let’s face it, somebody needed to unload a bunch of missile inventory and someone else wasn’t happy with the oil sharing deal for their tribe. Allies of convenience at best. A war ravaged country with tribal “settlement of scores” for years to come at worst…
