Since I said back in the early 2000s that I wanted ICP to be the “Apple of Solar”, the actual Apple company has been busy registering patents for solar power for mobile devices.
If only the technology could catch up to the concept? Every device would be self-recharging and the wired life we lead, always searching for the next charge point, would be a thing of the past.
Well I think its coming sooner than we think and the article linked above is but one evidence that people like Apple are moving towards that future sooner than we think. They don’t tend to spend money on patents for nothing. They must believe that some breakthrough solar technology is going to be the messiah which lands them that distinction which is the craving of all portable power users…recharging anywhere you are, anytime you want.
Hmm…somehow that old calling is feeling good again for this old solar blog writer….
