I was up late last night watching The Ten Commandments movie (perhaps 20th time?) and realized how rare it is for Easter and Passover to land on the same week.
In the end, both are annual springtime celebrations of different sorts, yet all related back to events which happened thousands of years ago.
A rabbi once told a cousin of mine that he should consider the story of the Exodus as a story meant to help think of what his “egypt” (ie. prison) was? Therein lies a great wisdom missed by many…if you cannot take scripture literally then perhaps that was not its intent for you in the first place?
