A solar blog salute to the heroes in Japan…

It is clear that the 50 or so workers who stayed behind to help combat further erosion of the situation at the Japanese nuclear sites which were damaged by the tsunami can be called “heroes”.

What else do you call someone who goes into a situation, knowing the high risks of contamination which could be lethal? Yet are we surprised? We are talking about Japan, a society which is to be looked up to in terms of how its citizens are supportive of each other and handling the crisis.

So while it is obvious that those who most deserve the title are the ones who are going back and/or staying at the nuclear site, I would dare say that their island is full of heroes, each helping their neighbour in their own way and to the best of their ability.

When Japan comes out of this, it will have shown a resilience and manner of handling crisis which is an example to the rest of the world.
