Interesting quote I heard this week. Didn’t come from any guru, accredited doctor, or other counselor. It came from Charlie Sheen, a man many believe is in “self-destruct” mode.
And while we can all lament his situation and that of those close to him, I wish to focus on the stated quote above. Can’t is not Won’t. Many people confuse them. “I can’t become a rocket scientist”. Really, is that true? If you put every ounce of being and moment of time focused on that, I bet you could become a rocket scientist. Some believe we have natural limitations in our minds, and while that may be true to a certain extent, it is only a question of degree that is probably relevant.
I can do anything I want to do. If I ever say “I can’t improve my solar blog”, its truly more “I won’t improve my solar blog”. And from that small shift comes a most amazing thing…self-accountability and from which comes…self-empowerment. When we play victim, when we set our limits, we come to believe we “can’t”. Yet when we see things from a 180degree view, and when we accept that we have more control in the creation of our own lives than we give ourselves credit for, we can then begin to attract to ourselves the energy which we put out in creating a positive life around ourselves.
Can’t is indeed the cancer of Happen. We all have the power to change any relationship we want. We have the power to change how we interact with every living being on earth. Yet the question is perhaps more…do we have the strength?
I’m off to some meetings…have a fabulous day!
